BEAUTY BABBLE// NEW FOUNDATION

I recently updated some of makeup. I was using the MAKEUP FOREVER HD foundation. There is nothing wrong with that one. I was just itching to try something new. For the longest time I wanted to try the ESTEE LAUDER Double Wear foundation. I’ve read lots of great reviews on it, but was afraid it would be too heavy for me. I have always applied my makeup with a light hand, so this kind of intimidated me. I also wanted to make sure I was color matched, but the only Sephora in San Francisco that sold Estee Lauder was downtown and I try to avoid going down there because it’s too busy. So I’ve haven’t tried it until now. Don’t ask me how, but I completely forgot that Nordstrom carries Estee Lauder and I could get color matched there! Like seriously why didn’t I do that?! It’s my favorite store! Well I was there one day in the beauty department buying my favorite beauty blenders and looking around, when a sales associate answered a few questions of mine about a lip kit I was on the hunt for. She started talking to me and suggested I try the foundation in a sample she would provide for me. This foundation has two finishes you can buy, matte and satin. She tried the matte on one side of my face and then the satin on the other. I preferred the matte finish, but she gave me a sample of the satin one to take home. I loved how the matte looked and immediately bought it. I apply it with a Beauty Blender and use just a little bit, because a small amount goes a long way. As I mentioned, I was afraid it would be too cakey, but it’s not! This foundation lasts all day and looks fresh even after wearing it 8+ hours. Some days, I choose to wear a tinted moisturizer when I opt for no foundation and a barely there look, but this foundation is the best when it comes to long wearing medium to full coverage foundations. It also withstands the heat and humidity, so no melting faces here! All around great buy!

I have also been wearing this LAURA MERCIER nude lip kit. Nude lipsticks can sound scary, but there are so many nude lippies that have lots of pink and brown to them so it still gives some color to your lips. This color is actually the perfect shade of pink for my skin tone. Sometimes I only wear the liner, I just line and fill in my lips. This makes it look very natural. Other times I may apply the lipstick or the gloss over it. I’ve been wearing it almost everyday for the last three weeks. It’s my go to nude!
