ACTIVITIES TO DO DURING SPRING
With spring in full swing and summer just around the corner, I’ve put together a list of activities you can do when the sun is shining! When the weather is beautiful, I love spending time outside, especially with a little one. That fresh air does everyone some good! Alright so here is a list of some fun, kid friendly activities to do.
- Fruit picking for some seasonal fruit. We recently went cherry picking and boy were they delicious. Not only were they amazing, but way cheaper than buying them from the grocery store. We paid $2.50 per pound for organic cherries. Whole Foods (even though I love going there) was charging $5 per pound for nonorganic cherries! Crazy right?! Find a local farm and go pick your own fruit. It’s a fun adventure, plus you get to take home some the freshest fruit!
- Make a morning trip to your local farmer’s market. I have always loved farmer’s markets. I could remember my mom taking me to them during the weekend and getting a bunch of fresh fruit for the week. I still enjoy going to them. The one I go to in San Francisco has a bunch of food trucks too, so I pick up some kind of food for lunch. My favorite food to get at the market are the dumplings! They are yummy! I love buying local produce and visiting all the booths with different knick knacks.
- Go for a walk in your city. No matter where you live there are always fun places to go for a walk. It’s an easy way to get yourself outdoors and enjoy the sunshine.
- Pack up your lunch and head to the park for a picnic. It’s always a good time when you make some delicious sandwiches and eat outside. You can actually take a moment to enjoy your food and the nature that surrounds you.
